  Notes for translators

  This area is dedicated to localizing Debian specific man pages.
  It is quite similar to webwml, except that we cannot modify
  original pages to add its CVS revision number.  For this reason,
  INFOS files contain meta-data which have to be manually updated.
  If you have questions, look at the french/ directory or tell us
  why you are confused, and we will try to update this README file.

  When starting a translation, create a directory with the English
  name for your language (as within webwml/).  Subdirectories are
  source package names, and they do not contain themselves other
  subdirectories.
  When adding files, remember to update the INFOS file too.
  Here is a brief description of all fields:
    Manpage:    document's name in this CVS repository, may be different
                than the one in the source package; this is the document
                ID
    Encoding:   document's encoding
    Location:   location of this document in the source package
                (only set a value when source package does contain this
                document).
    Original:   original ID in english/ directory
    Original-CVS-Revision:
                CVS revision number of the original document on which
                this translation is based
    Translator: translator's name, will be used to send automatic
                notifications when a translated man page is outdated

  Automatic CVS messages are sent to the virtual ddp-manpages package
  via the Package Tracking System, refer to
    http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/ch-resources.en.html#s-pkg-tracking-system
  for informations on how to receive these messages.
  A daily report is also sent to this list, which contains informations
  on outdated man pages.  If you want reports for your own language, you
  can also create a <lang>/REPORT file containing addresses where to send
  these reports.  See french/REPORT for an example.
